You Decide, Kentucky! is proud to announce two new additions to the Board of Directors as of September 2023, Campbell County Judge Executive Steve Pendery and Independence Mayor Chris Reinersman.   YDK! officials hailed the expansion by these Northern Kentucky elected leaders as yet another signal of the growth in the movement to reform the Constitution of Kentucky to provide the pathway to governments having more options in how they provide for their communities.

“Judge Pendery and Mayor Reinersman are well-respected leaders in Northern Kentucky and across the state,” said Lena Muldoon, YDK!’s Executive Director.  “Northern Kentucky has long been a pinnacle of economic growth and innovation in Kentucky. We’re excited to have their support in a region that would benefit greatly from more flexibility and options in how they generate the revenue needed to manage their local governments.”

Judge Pendery was elected County Judge/Executive in November 1998. A lifelong resident of Campbell County, Judge Pendery has served as Campbell County Judge/Executive since 1999. He is active across Northern Kentucky, serving on the boards of the Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation (Tri-Ed), the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments, the Northern Kentucky University Foundation and the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts.

Mayor Reinersman was first elected to City Council in 2010 and was elected Mayor in November 2014. As Mayor, his primary goals have been fiscal responsibility, smart growth and economic development. He is also a local business owner, an active member of St. Cecilia parish, and a charter member of the Independence Business Association.

“As Kentucky’s General Assembly continues to push towards its goal of enacting comprehensive tax reform, our cities and counties need for flexibility only grows more critical,” said Muldoon. “Judge Pendery and Mayor Reinersman understand that our initiative is the first step towards modernizing a system that does not work for our communities or residents, and doing so in a way that does not negatively impact businesses or its workforce. We’re happy they’re willing to lend their voices to our efforts to help Kentucky communities reach their full potentials.”
